ABOUT

A PASSION FOR AUDIO DESIGN I’m Chris O'Neill

I'm a Melbourne-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, sound designer and award winning singer/songwriter. I completed tertiary study (Bachelor of Applied Music: Composition) at Box Hill Institute in 2009, and was fortunate enough to be the sole recipient of both an Academic Excellence award and the Ken Barker scholarship.

PRODUCING AUDIO FOR INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONS

Since then, I've been involved in a little over 200 music and audio projects, written and released two solo CD’s and played with some of the nation’s most reputable acts, including Ian Moss (Cold Chisel), Mark Seymour (Hunters and Collectors) and Matt Corby.

In late 2016, I joined the ranks of audioforce (Berlin/Tokyo) as a composer and specialist songwriter. In the first few months, I successfully pitched and won 20+ different advertising campaign contracts for major international corporations.  Since then, I have worked on countless campaigns for clients such as Google, Canon, Square Enix and Ford.

Outside of composition, I also regularly contribute to the games industry as a sound designer, character designer/voice-over engineer, and audio director. Some of my more personal highlights include producing trip-hop stylings for the latest Metal Gear Solid release, designing audio and additional music for the BBC's first ever VR documentary Easter Rising: Voice of a Rebel, and getting eaten by a T-Rex as the voice of the ‘Trapper’ character in Primal Carnage: Extinction.
