Traveling While Black, audioforce and MIGW

As Melbourne International Games Week and all the mayhem associated with it winds down, I thought it’d be great to take a moment and think back over the last couple of months.  Turns out there’s been quite a lot of exciting things happening, but of course when you’re in the midst of racing deadlines it’s tricky to keep perspective!

Traveling While Black:

Oscar and Katy from VRTOV (Easter Rising: Voice of a Rebel) reached out to me last month to compose an original trailer piece for a project being announced at New York Film Festival: a VR documentary experience titled Traveling While Black.  Inspired by the The Negro Motorist Green Book and the perils of navigating 1960s America as a person of colour, the project will be directed by Roger Ross Williams – the first African-American to win an Academy Award for directing and producing a short or feature film.

Back in August, I received a call from an old friend from the Metal Gear Solid V vocal tracks project, who was talking about a recent change of scenery and the possibility of some exciting advertising projects based in both Tokyo and Berlin.  Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity.  Since then, I’ve worked on quite a number of projects for audioforce, with clientele including Google/Asics, Canon, and Takashimaya.  Looking forward to being able to show off a few more pieces as more campaigns go live in the coming weeks!

The rest of 2016 looks pretty frantic with games projects, with a whole lot of voice-over direction work coming into the pipeline across a few different games.  P.A.M.E.L.A is all happening, as are things with a couple of other exciting (hush hush) projects.  More to come!
